About

Grégory Maillot, originally from Lyon, has made Geneva his home for over a decade, finding inspiration in the city’s rich cultural diversity. This environment allows him to feel connected to the world at large.

After studying law in Lyon, Maillot’s fascination with observing and sharing stories led him to pursue photography. What began as passive observation soon evolved into active engagement, with Maillot using his camera as a tool to foster dialogue and build trust with those he captures.

His work is multifaceted, refusing to be confined to any one category. He sees his photographs as reflections of both his life and those of others, encompassing everything from cultural reports and intimate portraits to technical shots of rare objects, culinary photography, and unconventional settings. Above all, Maillot focuses on sharing moments rather than simply documenting them, viewing each image as a bridge connecting people.

In addition to his creative practice, Maillot also leads photography workshops. He encourages students to use photography as a means of self-expression and personal discovery, emphasizing the importance of trust and connection in the process.

Maillot’s photographic approach is grounded in simplicity and generosity, allowing him to establish genuine relationships with his subjects. He believes that a photograph is more than a static moment; it is a way to create a lasting connection with others. Through his work, Maillot continues to offer authentic, human-centered images that invite viewers to connect with the stories they tell.
